"HOW THE SILENCE OCCURS"

The Dangers of Reporting
Child Abuse and Fraud on American Families
in the Private Child-for-Profit Industry

By Paula Reeves
2006

  • Some estimate the booming, prison industry in America to be in excess of
    $60,000,000,000 a year.

  • The chilling of First Amendment rights by regulation-free private businesses has been
unprecedented in the United States by those using our children as commodities in the
     marketplace.

  • SLAPP is the acronym for Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation. Learn
more about SLAPP actions and how corporate child abusers silence critics.

  • One of the most famous SLAPP actions was filed against Oprah Winfrey by the Texas beef industry. Opray won, but most would not have been able to withstand the psychological pressure, the legal fees, and court costs.

  • SLAPPS are now taking the form of business owners who are marketing children's programs to families.  When those attempting to report or expose the child abuse or business fraud, some are SLAPPed into silence.

This is why we need strict federal laws to prevent corporations, in the child-for-profit referral and resource industry, from filing crushing lawsuits against everyday moms and dads, other advocates, and those who speak out against child abuse and fraud.  These lawsuits are being filed by self-described "advocates," who are actually in the corrupt referral business, located in Florida, Utah, and other locations across the nation.
